Ok, so I was looking around the net for something cool to write about, and I came across this amazing video of Johnny Lee demoing his projects with hacks for the Wii remote at TED 2008. I really could not believe my eyes what I was seeing from a $40 piece of equipment. Yeah ok, the projector he was using was about $2,000 for the presentation, but it looks like this could be used on any computer monitor, or even perhaps an HDTV, or LCD TV with VGA or DVI input.

Johnny Lee has opened up a huge potential for the Wii to continue to be the best next gen gaming system with games and other uses like these. I think that Wii game developers themselves can learn a ton from his technologies and use some of them in their games, or end up coming up with other peripherals that would work with the Wii remote. Johnny mentioned that someone from EA was already interested in using some of his discoveries as easter eggs in an upcoming game. Johnny should be hired by Nintendo immediately, he seems to know more about their remotes then they do from what I could see. Just imagine how easy to use a Wii paint program would be with this technology and a Wii IR pen? Everyones TV could be a canvas. I think that is pretty darn cool. No more drawing on the walls, kids will be drawing on their TVs. Hopefully only with the IR pen though!

The second portion of his presentation shows off an amazing 3D head-tracking camera. This part was the most exciting I thought, as it really showed just how powerful the Wii remote is. I thought it was pretty powerful when I saw what happens when you throw a Wii remote through your plasma screen TV, but I never saw it do anything as powerful in terms of gaming as what can be seen in the video. It is hard to explain, but lets just say that with special glasses made for around $10, you can follow a 3D environment on the screen that moves with your head. It was amazing. I foresee a Wii helmet or at the least some Wii goggles coming out after while with these developments in just the Wii remote technology. I did a little more digging around and I found the EA game, Boom Blox, that will be including an easter egg that will work with a pair of the homemade glasses. Get your

The best part about Johnny is that he has gotten his publicity from a free media platform, Youtube. He posted up some one of his I will be following Johnny Lee’s every move at this point as I would love to see what he comes up with next. Be sure that I will post up anything else I find. You can see the full video of his TED presentation and read the whole article over at the TED website.

It seems that over the past few months, Digg has lost a large amount of clout. There has been several issues that the admins continue to ignore and it seems that the site might be dying in a way. It might live on as a figment of what it once was, but unless something is done soon, it may just end up losing it’s user base to sites with better admins. There have been a few key issues that the Digg Administrators have not dealt with and here are just a few that I have come up with:

WHERE IS THE PICTURES SECTION?

Members old and new have been asking about this for almost a year now and nothing has been done about it. There was enough time to revamp the comments section, which has had mixed reactions itself, but not add something that is probably as simple as creating a new database field or 2 and a few lines of code. It is unbelievable that this issue has been ignored for so long. I know that webmasters and members alike will be thrilled to have this section added finally. Come on guys lets get to work!

Bury Squads Must GO!

This is a very simple issue and with proper administration can be handled. I understand there is no perfect way to do it as you will be banning subnets of people or IPs of people who did not do anything, but at least clean up the buried Diggs and have a fair system.

Why not have an audio section as well?

There are plenty of legitimate audio sites out there for bands, concerts, tournois poker en lignepoker comle poker a t

This all sounds pretty crazy, but it seems that we might just be doing such. According to Nick Bostrom, a doctor and philosopher at Oxford University, there is a chance of around 20 percent certainty that we are currently living in a simulation that would resemble the scenario portrayed in the Matrix trilogy. The Matrix is supposed to be a computer world that our brains virtually interpret into a physical world.

All objects are figments of our imagination. The difference being that we could not be unplugged from this virtual world as we are just simulations all together.

His research and hypotheses are very interesting and a good read. He uses the advancements in computer technologies to explain how in time, a supercomputer could be built that would be able to simulate all of brains of the world. You can read more over at the NY Times website where the full story is covered. There are several other philosophers and other people who agree with many of Dr. Bostrom’s theories and support his research.

I think that his research is very interesting and I will probably look for more of his studies online. I really loved the Matrix movies as I felt a connection somehow to the characters as I have experienced some interesting things in my life like deja vu and dreams that have come true, so the idea that all of this could be true sparks my interest.

2004 Election Ballots Destroyed

In 56 of Ohio’s 88 counties, ballots and election records from 2004 have been “accidentally” destroyed, despite a federal order to preserve them — it was crucial evidence which would have revealed whether the election was stolen. Read the full story!

It seems even more problems with the 2004 Ohio ballots have come to pass. It does not shock me one bit that they would want to destroy any evidence of wrong doing in that election. With all of the electronic voting machine hacking and fraud that went on it just is another layer of icing on the cake. We may never know the factual truth on what happened in 2004, but everyone by now should be getting a pretty good idea.

HBO proves inaccuracies with Voting Machines

HBO ran a documentary for a while called Hacking Democracy and it showed that it was not very hard at all to hack your voting agenda into the systems that Diebold had setup throughout many states. It also showed the insecure methods in which the electronic voting systems were stored and the insecure ways that the voting data itself was stored in. The final thing they pointed out was how easy it would be to insert a virus of sorts and change the votes when they were tallied. It would not be out of line to consider that several scripts were placed throughout Ohio and perhaps other states that had issues with the voting machines. I feel that anything counting votes for such an important reason should have a paper trail as well as a very secure method and file system for storing the data. It is a joke to see that documentary and try to fathom that a presidential election was actually run on the systems. You can check out the documentary yourself on HBO.

It seems every time I turn around anymore there is an advertisement shoved in my face that has some unrealistically skinny woman on it or some very metro sexual male. So let me get this straight, every guy in America wants to see a twig with no meat on her bones? I doubt it. I for one cannot stand anorexic looking women. It is a very big turn off for me as it is not only unhealthy, but you never hear rappers singing about show me your ribs, oh yeah I wanna see ribs baby. It is absolutely disgusting if your ribs overly show as a woman. I can’t help but notice when I am the grocery store of the tabloids showing some other celebrity that has jumped on the bandwagon of being anorexic. It is a disgrace to women everywhere to see this sort of thing and I am not even one.

I feel that fashion is the root of this evil and the fact that they promote this sort of behavior from even a very young age with the magazines, TV shows, and “the catwalk”. It is a sad day when normal women cannot walk into a store because everything is a size 0-8. Its outrageous to think that you are not supposed to have breasts and that the biggest size that they are supposed to be is a 36D on the shelf. I tried to go get my girlfriend some nice stuff from an unnamed store, we will call it Vickey’s Training Bra Center, and there was nothing close in the whole store. She is only a DD and that is not that uncommon in a non-anorexic female from what I can tell. I am no expert on health or well-being, but I do feel that it is common sense to eat healthy and not throw your food up after you eat it. Not only do you not gain any of the nutritional value, but you also are burning layers off of your esophagus with stomach acid. Fashion should be held accountable for this as earlier today when I logged onto my AIM account, Armani | Exchange was displaying an ad on their aimtoday page with a woman that looked like she hadn’t eaten in over a week. Her right leg was being pulled into the air and it was no thicker than my arm in diameter. There is something wrong with fashion.

Today I found out that one of my ex-coworkers stole information about one of our e-commerce stores and the vendor contact information to start his own online store. Now I am no law man, but that has got to be illegal. First of all the information was on company owned computers, so therefore it would be considered their intellectual property if I am not mistaken. My boss is on vacation as his 21st birthday was yesterday, so I am not going to call him about it tonight. I just feel that it is plain and simple stealing and that is a chargeable offense. I know that any other place that I have worked, even if you stole a stapler, you could be arrested for stealing company property. I don’t think that any digital data would be any different, in fact it could prove to be more valuable of a item than just the products themselves in court. Smooth move buddy. I would say drop the store before you get hit with a cease and desist or even worse, as subpoena. It is just stupid to try a stunt like that in the first place and I hope you learn your lesson. I am not going to name names, but you know how you are and you should be ashamed of yourself for such petty thievery.  Bitches.

I am really not a big fan of having my childhood sold back to me, but every now and again I fall sucker to this sort of thing and go check it out. I am pleased to say that the Transformers movie was a great movie. I was a little reserved about checking it out, but my friends and coworkers said it was a must see, so I went with my girlfriend on Friday night.

From the opening scenes I was captivated by the special effects. They were amazing. There were a few scenes that were over the top, but overall it was a great spectacle for the eyes and senses. It was a nice stroll down memory lane once the main characters started showing up. I was a little taken aback by Bumble Bee’s character, but then again I guess it makes sense in a marketing aspect. I don’t want to give any spoilers away, so I won’t go into any detail on that.

The plot was not bad at all and  Shia Labouf did a great job as usual. He is becoming one of my favorite actors because he can play a very serious part, yet still keep a humorous edge to it. His female counterpart was quite the little hottie and did not do too bad at her part either. There were plenty of characters we all know also, who did their part to keep the story going and interesting.

I will not spoil the ending, but it did leave quite a bit open for a sequel if they wanted to do it. I guess it would not be hard to do a sequel to any comic book or cartoon movie, as they to some point can just go on forever with new twists on the story. I recommend this movie to anyone who used to watch Transformers on Saturday morning cartoons, who likes good special effects, or anyone who knows the slightest bit about the cartoon. It would be neat to see a sequel and see where the story goes from there. We will have to see.

George W. Bush has once again signed an Executive Order to strengthen the governments power over the people. With this new order, the government can seize all assets of any “person” who is found to hinder the War effort in Iraq. This is very disturbing as he signed one just a few weeks back giving him total control over the government if another catastrophic event happens. I fear that our country is headed in a bad direction and set for a bad turn of events if this sort of thing continues. My worst fear is that they claim a dictatorship and go ahead and attack Iran with nothing stopping them. This would be totally nuts, yes, but totally impossible? No. Their are enough laws in place at this point for us to lose just about every right we had under the Bill of Rights. This alone should be disconcerting to Americans alone. Only time will tell at this point, because nobody can do anything about it or fear losing their property and assets. We have now lost the 5th Amendment to our Constitution. RIP old friend.

This passionate, powerful summation is a must-read on the Eve of Independence Day. He spells out the horrific abuses of the Bush administration and their devastating impact on our nation. Please watch the video, too, as soon as it’s posted to the Countdown Web site.

Finally, a mainstream media reporter has stood up for our freedom on national TV. The calling for their resignation is legendary and will go down in history far longer than Bush’s legacy. There could be no better way to celebrate your July 4th than to read this article and watch the video. This is a true patriot in today’s world and he has given more hope that this administrations time is limited. Hopefully the rest of the mainstream media catches onto this and it will give Dubya enough reason to step down and bring his henchman, Cheney, with him. I would have to say at this point, they stand more chance of being impeached if they are going to stay in office any longer. It would probably be in their best interest at this point to resign, or face the criminal proceedings that should be coming their way. Either way, good riddance!

It is our time to stand up for our rights, we have been sitting around for about 20 years letting our freedom slip away. The last time there was this much strife, war, and lies people were out in the streets of Washington, DC protesting. Yeah they might have just all been a bunch of “hippies”, but they set in motion the wheels that stopped the War in Vietnam. So get out your flower power gear and get your bus tuned up, its time to make a difference again people! It would be nice to see some people getting away from the TV and taking to the streets because of this outrageous behavior that our government has been up to. I hope that there are enough people still grazing away from the sheep that can still think for themselves and have the courage to stand up for what is right in America.
